Looking for a way to make a difference and get members in your congregation excited about how church can really make a difference in the world?  On this mission trip to Charleston, South Carolina from June 17 - 22, 2024, the group will stay at James Island Presbyterian Church Mission House.   We have enlisted volunteers to prepare our meals and James Island is right across the bridge from downtown Charleston.  We will be building homes with Habitat for Humanity, and doing home repair.  We will work with James Island outreach including minor home repair and food bank work in food banks, serving meals, working in homeless shelter and doing Hurricane Ian recovery work.

 

Each team will have approximately 8 people.  Team 1 - those 16 and older will work on habitat homes and other construction projects.  Team 2 - 11 to 15 years old and chaperones will work on home repair and other outdoor projects.  Team 3 will work on inside projects, including food banks and feeding lunch to the homeless, etc.

 

The cost per individual is $175.00 if you provide your own transportation, $225.00 if you ride in the van (dependent on availability of church van at a location close to participant).  $125.00 if you secure your own lodging.
