Dates:  June 1st – 3rd, 2018 with pre-Assembly activities beginning May 31st

Place:  Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia

This year the Assembly will have 2 keynote speakers! On Friday our new General Minister and President, Rev. Teresa “Teri” Hord Owens, will preach during the evening worship service; on Saturday Rev. Caroline Hamilton-Arnold, from Week of Compassion, will be making a presentation, as well as preaching at the closing Assembly worship on Sunday.

There will be a presentation from our Regional Search Committee on the work they are doing, an interest group on the new bylaws we are proposing, and a Bible Lecture by Rev. Dr. Bill Lee. As always, we will have workshops and interest groups for your edification, luncheons and dinners for your physical nourishment, and worship Friday and Saturday night, closing in worship Sunday morning for your spiritual nourishment. All-in-all a well-rounded weekend of business and fun!

Pre-Assembly will have 2 workshop choices:

Workshop #1

Healthy Boundaries for Clergy Training

Facilitated by Reverend Coretha Loughridge

Workshop #2

Pro-Reconciling/Anti-Racism Training

Hosted by Reverend Kevin McNeil and facilitated by trainers on the General Church Pro-Reconciliation Team.

We hope you will join us as we Love One Another at the 173rd Regional Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia.

“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
— John 13:34-35
